Admissions Counselor - Flagler College
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized guidance to prospective students and their families regarding the admissions process, program offerings, financial aid, and campus life.
- Aid students in completing applications, obtaining necessary documentation, and meeting important deadlines.
- Conduct individual meetings, calls, and group information sessions to address questions and concerns related to enrollment.
- Review applications for admission, ensuring all required materials are submitted and criteria are met.
- Manage a designated recruitment territory - which would include extensive recruitment travel, developing and maintaining productive working relationships with key educational stakeholders, and providing admissions counseling for prospective students and their families.
- Participate in on-campus and virtual events, such as open houses, orientation programs, and admitted student days. This includes evening and weekend work.
- Cookordinate with the Pre-Enrollment Advisor to maximize transferable credit for incoming students.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, application statuses, and recruitment activities using the admissions CRM (Salesforce).
- Generate reports and provide insights to the Director of Admissions on trends, challenges, and opportunities related to assigned recruitment territory.
- Become knowledgeable about all aspects of Flagler College including academic programs, campus events and activities, orientation, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, college policy, and important dates.
- Cultivate relationships with alumni, guidance counselors and other constituents in the territory to assist with the recruitment process.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum qualifications include one year of experience in admissions, student leadership, recruitment, customer service, or higher education programming.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to troubleshoot and problem-solve
- Ability to work with diverse populations
