About the Role

Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital is a growing, 144-bed behavioral health facility providing a full continuum of inpatient services across all patient populations, including specialty programs for adolescents, adults, and older adults. The hospital performs behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day and offers programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues. A robust outpatient program utilizes group, family, and individual therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the main doors and the hospital’s multi-line phone system
  • Verify patient insurances
  • Obtain signatures on admitting paperwork
  • Handle patient registration and processing of all admitting forms
  • Interface with the Intake Department, patients, and nursing units

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience verifying insurance required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working as a receptionist, front desk clerk, or in a related hospital department
  • Proficiency with multi-line phone systems and computers
  • Strong communication skills, customer service focus, ability to multi-task, and critical thinking skills

Schedule

This in-person role requires two 12-hour shifts per week. Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required on a rotation basis.
