Sierra Vista Hospital, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, it has provided clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral, and addiction problems.
About the Role
The Admissions Coordinator/Financial Counselor processes admissions and registrations, including all consent forms, financial assessments of patients, self-pay liability, insurance verification, up-front deposits/collections, and data integrity. The role involves communicating benefit information to patients, family, and staff while delivering a high degree of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Process admissions and registrations, ensuring all consent forms are signed.
- Conduct financial assessments of patients, including self-pay liability.
- Verify insurance coverage and collect up-front deposits.
- Maintain data integrity for patient records.
- Communicate benefit information to patients, families, and staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred: Two (2) years' experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a healthcare environment, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital setting.
- Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
- May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
