About the role

The Admission Coordinator is an integral part of the Business Practice Front Office Team. This position supports the clinical and physician practice area by managing front office responsibilities including appointment check-in and check-out, scheduling, rescheduling, reminder calls, authorizations, collecting co-pays, verifying insurance, and providing quality customer service. The role requires maintaining a working knowledge of front desk processes, ensuring timely completion of daily tasks, supporting professional staff, and delivering quality customer service. Assignments and tasks are executed with considerable independence while maintaining compliance with facility policies, contract requirements, organization bylaws, and federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage appointment check-in and check-out processes
  • Handle scheduling, rescheduling, and reminder calls
  • Process authorizations and collect co-pays
  • Verify insurance information
  • Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers
  • Maintain a working knowledge of front desk processes
  • Ensure timely completion of daily tasks
  • Support the needs of professional staff
  • Execute tasks with considerable independence
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, contract requirements, organization bylaws, and federal/state regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 3 years of related medical field experience, OR a combination of education and related medical field experience
  • Working knowledge of business/medical front office practices
  • Understanding of insurance authorizations and practice requirements (considered a plus)
  • Ability to work independently with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Proficient internet/computer skills, including Microsoft Office 10
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including letters, memos, and emails
  • Ability to work within established agency policies and procedures
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to resist distractions
  • Must pass organization screening requirements, including state and federal background checks

Pay

Salary range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75 per hour, based on experience.
