About the Role

Monitors the flow of patient admission and placement activities in obstetrical units. Continually improves services and processes while performing clerical duties in support of the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
• Maintains daily logs of all inpatient check-ins, time of arrival, and time of scheduled procedures.
• Assists with the care of the patient by performing a variety of clerical and support functions in a timely manner.
• Schedules procedures including c-sections and inductions.
• Admits patients and prepares patient charts.
• Inputs billing for procedures and conducts order entry.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform clerical skills and phone etiquette.
• Knowledge of basic computer keyboard functions.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
