About the role
The Admissions Communications Specialist develops, creates, and integrates all aspects of the Admissions communications function, including print and digital communications, social media, marketing collateral, content strategy, internal messaging, and other creative efforts to engage diverse and highly qualified prospective students to the School of Public Health’s graduate degree programs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the timely execution of action-based and process-oriented communication plans.
- Develop creative content, project timelines, and production schedules.
- Create compelling, succinct copy for various target audiences/channels.
- Produce materials and communication plans for campus tours, visits, and recruitment events.
- Create key messaging/copy for print and electronic enrollment communications.
- Manage communications functions and analytics in the admissions CRM (SLATE).
- Coordinate social media and digital marketing strategies.
- Develop innovative multimedia recruitment opportunities, including video, chat, and text.
- Organize and facilitate focus groups, utilize analytics to measure campaign performance, and implement measures to optimize future communications strategies.
- Cultivate new opportunities to highlight the stories and competitive advantages of the School of Public Health.
- Collaborate with campus partners and third-party contractors to support asset creation and facilitate consistent and seamless campaigns/projects.
Communications Strategic Planning
- Work collaboratively with School of Public Health Communications and Admissions team members to develop cohesive communications strategies and initiatives designed to enhance the recruitment and yield of prospective students and elevate the School of Public Health.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to advance the institutional mission and objectives of the School of Public Health.
- May involve attendance at and travel to local, regional, or domestic recruitment events, representing the Bursky School of Public Health and engaging with prospective students.
- Explore trends in enrollment marketing and student recruitment, assess current organic communication campaigns, and plan for future campaigns.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the School of Public Health’s admissions and enrollment processes, programmatic information and updates, and institutional policies and procedures.
Systems and Process Management
- Develop policies and protocols to ensure effective resource management related to communications and marketing.
- Provide leadership and training to team members for adherence to institutional style guide standards and consistent brand messaging.
- Manage systems and software utilized in marketing and communications efforts.
Working Conditions
- Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations. Work outside typical office hours as needed.

- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree.
