About the role

At Advocate Support Services, the Admissions & Assessment Specialist plays a crucial role in engaging individuals on their recovery journey and ensuring they receive timely, compassionate, and person-centered psychiatric rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meaningful, person-centered assessments
  • Develop individualized rehabilitation plans reflecting each person's unique goals and strengths
  • Guide individuals from referral to enrollment
  • Collaborate with a mission-driven clinical and operational team
  • Help expand access to services for adults experiencing serious mental illness
  • Play a critical role in Medicaid documentation integrity, authorization readiness, audit readiness, and continuity of care

Requirements

  • CPRP (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner), LMHP (Licensed Mental Health Professional), or other qualification approved under applicable COMAR requirements
  • DLA-20 certification or willingness to obtain certification within required timelines
  • Experience conducting behavioral health assessments, intakes, rehabilitation planning, or comparable clinical documentation
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and recovery-oriented services
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Able to utilize electronic health records and organizational technology systems effectively

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health or human services field (preferred)
  • Maryland PRP experience (preferred)
  • Experience developing Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Maryland Medicaid and behavioral health systems (preferred)
  • Experience with Alleva, HubSpot, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, or similar platforms (preferred)
