Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator
About the role
The Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator at UTHealth is responsible for coordinating and administering student services programs for admissions and student affairs. Key responsibilities include assisting with the coordination of student services, conducting surveys, organizing and compiling student documentation, and supporting deans and directors in logistics and coordination of special pipeline programs.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with the coordination of student services programs for prospective students, applicants, and current students.
- Conducts surveys and gathers and analyzes data to assist deans and directors in the preparation of program materials, internal reports, and documents for meetings and conferences.
- Organizes, coordinates, collects, and compiles student documentation and attestations housed in OASA student records.
- Supports in recommending and implementing policies and procedures to improve student services programming, planning, scheduling, and training for applicants and pre-clinical and clinical students.
- Aids in logistics and coordination of special pipeline programs, such as the Joint Admissions Medical Program.
- Prepares general correspondence to students, including various monthly email communications.
- Maintains monitoring of various email listservs owned by the office and fields general and frequently asked questions.
- Assists in examination administration, as needed.
- Collaborates in the coordination of acquisition and dissemination of appropriate materials and resources provided by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs to students per education level.
Requirements
Experience in higher education, academic medicine, student affairs, admissions, or related areas within these educational environments is required. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is beneficial. Knowledge of student information systems, database management, and electronic document management systems is essential. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred to support a diverse student population.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.
- Minimum Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in an educational setting.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
