About the Role

New Mexico State University–Alamogordo (NMSU-A) is seeking a dynamic, motivated Admissions Advisor to join our team. This role serves as a representative for NMSU Alamogordo, engaging with potential students, current students, staff, faculty, and community organizations to provide information about our campus programs and resources.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a recruiter at campus and off-campus events, providing details about NMSU-A programs and resources, including travel to surrounding communities such as Tularosa, Cloudcroft, Mescalero, K-12 schools, and community events.
• Maintain reports for recruitment efforts.
• Assist prospective and current students with the admissions process, working alongside the Admissions department and Admission Specialist Processors to ensure successful enrollment.
• Help students understand programs and next steps in the enrollment process.
• Develop and maintain network connections with community members, organizations, partnerships, and system-wide personnel.
• Participate in co-curricular events on and off campus to support student retention.
• Engage in events such as graduation, Student Services events, campus communications, and campus visits.
• Assist in coordinating New Student Orientation.
• Maintain relationships with surrounding high schools, homeschools, and private schools to support Dual Credit efforts.
• Maintain records of dual credit students, schedule appointments with Academic Advisors for advisement sessions, and organize events for Admissions and Academic Advisors at local schools.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Working Conditions

• Work is normally performed indoors.
• Moderate physical activity, including lifting objects up to 25 pounds or standing/walking for more than four hours per day.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

Pay

$43,908.80 per year

Schedule

Standard (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). May include evenings and/or weekends as needed.
