Admission Nurse (RN) - Full Time

About the role

As a crucial member of the Patient Care Services team, the Admission Nurse plays a vital role in providing comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients with diverse diagnoses. Working closely with the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, the Admission Nurse facilitates the admission process for patients coming from the ED or the community. Collaboration with the ED staff, Nursing Supervisors, and inpatient team is essential to initiate the admission process and ensure smooth throughput.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with inpatient providers, primary nurses, other disciplines, and inpatient floors to coordinate the admission process and provide patients with comprehensive care.
• Ensures efficient admission process for patients originating in the ED or from the community.
• Delivers nursing care by utilizing a patient-centered approach incorporating the Professional Practice Model.

Requirements

• Graduate with an Associate’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse with a NH License or compact state license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Acute Care Clinical areas.
• Understanding of patient transport – unit to unit and admission protocols.
• Clinical experience in Cardiac Telemetry.
• Previous Admission Nurse experience highly preferred.
