It manages the full publishing lifecycle, including editorial, design, marketing, publicity, sales, production, and distribution. With nearly 300 publishing brands and imprints, the organization operates at significant scale with a broad international presence.

About the Opportunity

The Administrator, Rights Management supports the Subsidiary Rights Accounting group by managing rights-related payments, records, and communications. This role ensures accurate tracking and reconciliation of rights income and supports financial operations related to licensing and permissions. The position works closely with internal teams, licensees, sub-agents, banks, and other external partners to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bank deposits and their integration into the rights management system.
  • Maintain daily income reconciliation documentation.
  • Serve as the primary contact between the department and the bank.
  • Research and match licensee communications and statements to payments.
  • Manage the rights accounting mailbox and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
  • Forward invoicing requests for subsidiary rights advances and royalties to the appropriate administrator.
  • Organize and maintain royalty statements.
  • Investigate unidentified payments and determine their appropriate sources.
  • Collaborate with Rights Accountants and Permission Administrators regarding communications with licensees and sub-agents.
  • Communicate with internal treasury teams, banks, licensees, sub-agents, and other external partners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date standard operating procedures for assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide task coverage and operational support as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe applications.
  • Experience with SAP systems is a plus.
  • Internship experience or general knowledge of the publishing industry is preferred but not required.

Pay Range

Salary of up to $60,000 per year. Eligibility for annual profit awards or bonuses based on company results.
