Administrator Director Cardiovascular - Center City
About the role
The Administrator Director will provide operational leadership and management for TJUH Inc. Heart & Vascular Institute both within the hospital and ambulatory sites. Will be a driving force in the development and implementation of the strategic direction and growth strategies necessary to ensure TJUH’s cardiac service line's successful performance in the marketplace. Will play a vital external role in interacting with, influencing and developing both internal and external constituencies to promote the TJUH throughout the community and neighboring market areas. Will also provide local strategic leadership and will have overall responsibility for the heart and vascular service line. Accountable for the overall development, strategic visioning, and operational performance. Will serve as a liaison and provide direction and support for the clinical and non-clinical administrative roles across the Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Service Line. Oversight of cardiac imaging sites inpatient and ambulatory.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements strategic direction and growth strategies for the cardiac service line.
- Interacts with and influences internal and external constituencies to promote TJUH.
- Provides local strategic leadership and oversees the heart and vascular service line.
- Serves as a liaison and provides direction and support for clinical and non-clinical administrative roles.
- Oversight of cardiac imaging sites inpatient and ambulatory.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with other CV Service Line leaders.
- Ensures ambulatory access improvement, surgical scheduling efficiencies, and quality measures / reporting are optimized.
- Ensures Departmental compliance with strategic planning, fiscal responsibilities, and regulatory requirements.
- Manages faculty affairs, including recruitment, hiring, credentialing, promotion, tenure, annual evaluations, post-tenure review, and salary funding.
- Monitors Heart and Vascular trends and develops and recommends procedural changes.
- Works with TJUH to ensure TJUH H&V programs are appropriately integrated into the hospital and functioning according to budgets and strategic plan.
- Hires, terminates, classifies, trains, administers salaries, evaluates, and manages personnel.
- Supervises administrative support staff and handles personnel issues.
- Reviews and approves financial transactions, identifies and assigns correct charge codes, and ensures transactions do not exceed budgeted funds or Medical Group or Hospital guidelines.
- Assists with strategic development, develops staff and facilities, and insures a proper financial base exists to support department goals.
- Researches, analyzes, and prepares statistical data for contract negotiation and participates in contract negotiations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or another related field preferred.
- Seven or more years of related leadership experience, preferably in an academic healthcare setting.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in a senior leadership position.
