Job Summary

Reporting to the Department Head for Experience Industry Management, this position independently supports the day-to-day operations of the EIM department and ensures departmental office alignment with University, college, and department policies and procedures. Administrative support includes but is not limited to department head, faculty, staff, and student support; budget support; retention, promotion and tenure processes for the department; department event planning; fundraising event organization; and student staffing, including hiring and payroll.

This position supports the department head, 8 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 2 full time lecturers, 5-7 part-time faculty, 391 major students. Department Summary

Department Summary

The Experience Industry Management Department (EIM) is a major academic unit within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES). The Department provides a B.S. Degree in Experience and Event Management.

Key Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of standard policies and procedures in higher education administration.
  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
  • Ability to take initiative, plan, organize and prioritize work (multi-tasking).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise critical judgment, and anticipate problems and address them proactively.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Type 45 wpm.
  • Five years of general office support or technical experience.

Salary And Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $52,404 - $62,628 per year
Classification Range: $52,404 - $76,512 per year
