Hiring Agency Education & Labor Cabinet | Office of the Secretary Location 500 Mero Street, 4th Floor Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunity across the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, find work, and maintain economic stability. We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated individual to serve in a full-time role for the employers and employees across the Commonwealth. This position is in the Office of Administrative Services, working in the Division of Fiscal Management, Processing and Payment Section as an Administrative Supervisor at the Education and Labor Cabinet. The position will be based in Franklin County. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following Supervise the work of multiple employees daily by monitoring and filtering multiple administrative agency email inboxes. Filters invoices to employees to process. Reviews and approves documents submitted by employees daily. Prepares multiple agency and statewide reports, revenue and expenditure comparisons, as required by statute, regulation or cabinet leadership. Suggests changes in Cabinet administrative policy. Trains employees and agency program staff as needed on accounts receivable and payable matters using software including, but not limited to, eMARS, Internet and general accounting processes. Provides direct supervision, including approval of leave requests and timesheets, and completes employee performance evaluations. Accepts, confirms and reviews accounts receivable items on a daily basis for section employees to process. Confirms and approves documents and provides revenue reports to departments and offices as requested. Assists manager with preparation, review and submission of the Fiscal Year Closing Package for multiple departments. Assists Operations with the Utility Closing Package. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the selected candidate: Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical skills. Day to day computer skills to include projections/forecasting, fiscal analysis. Ability to work within a team as well as independently. Excel experience (pivot tables, creating formulas, and charts). Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail. Committed to meeting deadlines. Ability to work volume and changing priorities. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional administrative experience. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
