About the role
The Administrative Supervisor provides administrative support to facility management and supervises general clerical and administrative support functions. They also serve as a liaison with partner agencies and legal representatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the performance of general clerical and administrative support functions.
- Serve as a liaison with partner agencies and legal representatives, responding to inquiries or requests, or referring to appropriate staff as needed.
- Supervise general office and administrative support staff in the performance of their duties and evaluate as prescribed by the facility and company policy.
- Train new employees, evaluate performance and prepare performance appraisals, listen to concerns and effectively resolve disputes or issues, take corrective or disciplinary action, develop work schedules for subordinates, and approve leave requests.
- Create and maintain general files or other routine reports in an organized manner, sort, label, file and retrieve, in accordance with company file retention and storage procedures; maintain confidentiality and security of records.
- Afford effective management of facility/department resources; assist in conducting physical inventories; maintain facility inventories as requested.
- Compile, prepare and accurately maintain a variety of documents and standard operating records and reports, including those required by management, contracting agency and/or government regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
- Five years of experience in full-time secretarial, administrative office work or office management is required.
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Additional qualifying education at an accredited college, business school or technical institute in office administration or a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
- Must possess strong attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software applications is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
