About the Role
Support the daily operations of the Division of Hospital Medicine by providing administrative services for the Division Director, Division Administrator, and assigned faculty. Coordinate specialized projects, activities, and events, ensure appropriateness of expenditures, and manage contract or grant requirements. Exercise a high level of autonomy while performing administrative support and management responsibilities, including managing schedules, correspondence, travel arrangements, Quality Improvement initiatives, and grant submission and support. Key areas of responsibility include operational and communication management, Human Resources, and Financial Planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedules, correspondence, and travel arrangements for Division Director, Division Administrator, and faculty.
- Coordinate Quality Improvement initiatives and grant submission and support.
- Oversee operational and communication management, Human Resources, and Financial Planning.
- Manage clinical and provider scheduling, including shift assignments, call schedules, and coordination across multiple service lines or departments.
- Support faculty recruitment.
- Research and prepare reports, conduct data entry, and edit documents.
- Verify funds or process reimbursements.
- Coordinate activities and events.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience working in an academic environment.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing clinical and provider scheduling.
- Experience with faculty recruitment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Epic and University of Iowa policies and procedures.
- Experience with QGenda.
- Experience coordinating activities and events.
- Experience verifying funds or processing reimbursement.
