Administrative Services Specialist

Duties
- Make purchases within delegated monetary authority.
- Track obligations and expenditures.
- Analyze support services processes and procedures.
- Provide support services in relation to space management, records, supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health and safety.
- Administer a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes.
- Project and analyze space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
- Coordinate USAO special events, such as press conferences or community outreach activities.
- Oversee building facility related projects.
- Participate in property and equipment inventories.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
- Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications
GS-7: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:
- Specialized experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support services such as purchasing supplies and equipment; overseeing property inventory; assisting in entering or tracking budgetary data and handling incoming and outgoing mail.
- Education: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a closely related field (e.g., Business, Finance); or Superior Academic Achievement: Possess a Bachelor's Degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months AND possess at least one of the following criteria: class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; an overall GPA of 3.0 OR at least a 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in the major field OR based on the average of required courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; OR election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.
- Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:
- Specialized experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience entering or tracking budgetary data; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses or obligations; and overseeing property inventory.
- Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance): Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., if related.
- Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.
GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:
- Specialized experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09. Specialized experience is defined as experience entering and tracking budgetary data; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses or obligations; overseeing property inventory; planning and procuring office equipment, supplies, and/or furniture and projecting/analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
- Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance): Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M, if related.
- Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.
