Administrative Services Specialist

About the role
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for serving as a United States Attorney's Office representative in the Northern District of Texas. You will perform a variety of duties that support the District's administrative and support services in the headquarters office in the areas of property, budget, mail, supply, and facilities management.
Responsibilities
- Plans and procures support services and equipment.
- Provides support services in relation to space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health, and safety.
- Administers a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes.
- Projects and analyzes space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
- Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a probationary or trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st, 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.
- You must meet all eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement and continue to meet these requirements throughout the hiring process. Offers can be rescinded if requirements are not met.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

- Must be able to attain and retain at least a level 1 (one) Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) as a federal contracting professional. The person selected is expected to obtain a FAC-C within one year of the date of hire. To maintain a FAC-C, contract professionals are required to meet the continuous training requirement.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Administrative Services Specialist, at GS-0301-9/11, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
GS-9:
- Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Assist entering or tracking budgetary data; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses, or obligations; and overseeing property inventory.
- Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance):
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
- 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
- LL.B or J.D., if related.
- Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
GS-11:
- Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience entering and tracking budgetary data; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses, or obligations; overseeing property inventory; planning and procuring office equipment, supplies, and/or furniture; and projecting/analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
- Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance):
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
- LL.M, if related.
- Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency to U.S. education programs and must include an English translation of all documentation.
