About the role
The job of Administrative Secretary--Special Schools is done for the purpose of providing secretarial support to school site; establishing and maintaining records; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
Responsibilities
- Administers first aid and prescription medications to students (under the direction of a health care professional)
- Attends department and/or in-service meetings
- Collections payments for a variety of events
- Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures
- Compiles data
- Covers assigned projects and/or activities
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents files and records
- Maintains inventory of supplies and materials
- Oversees the work activities within the office
- Oversees distribution of mail, packages, supplies
- Performs enrollment and withdrawal activities
- Performs general clerical functions
- Processes a variety of documents and materials
- Reconciles a variety of financial data
- Serves as an administrator's representative
- Researches assigned topics
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties
- Schedules activities
- Screens telephone calls and visitors
Requirements
- Age 16+
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
