About the role

The job of Administrative Secretary--Special Schools is done for the purpose of providing secretarial support to school site; establishing and maintaining records; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.

Responsibilities

  • Administers first aid and prescription medications to students (under the direction of a health care professional)
  • Attends department and/or in-service meetings
  • Collections payments for a variety of events
  • Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures
  • Compiles data
  • Covers assigned projects and/or activities
  • Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents files and records
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and materials
  • Oversees the work activities within the office
  • Oversees distribution of mail, packages, supplies
  • Performs enrollment and withdrawal activities
  • Performs general clerical functions
  • Processes a variety of documents and materials
  • Reconciles a variety of financial data
  • Serves as an administrator's representative
  • Researches assigned topics
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties
  • Schedules activities
  • Screens telephone calls and visitors

Requirements

  • Age 16+
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
