Administrative Officer (HIS)
About the role
Healthcare Improvement Scotland is delighted to offer a range of exciting opportunities for talented Administrative Officers to join our organisation, initially within the Nursing and Integrated Care Directorate or Quality Assurance and Regulation Directorate.
These are permanent posts, offering a unique opportunity to gain broad experience across the organisation. Postholders will be assigned to a specific role for a period of between 6 months and 2 years, after which they will transition into a new assignment within another Directorate or priority area, supporting a variety of national programs and workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Responding to enquiries and information requests
- Serving as a point of contact for teams and individuals
- Supporting teams, meetings and events (online and in-person)
- Circulating meeting papers and recording actions
- Taking minutes of meetings, tracking progress of and updating action points
- Processing system transactions (such as purchase orders and invoices)
- Liaising with internal colleagues, senior managers and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage competing demands
- Comfortable working on their own, as well as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and online tools such as MS Teams
Qualifications
Experience in administrative roles is essential, with a proven track record of providing support to teams and managing multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience in healthcare settings is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and online tools
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of Band 4 (£31,537 - £34,303) pro rata for part-time hours, with full-time hours being 36 hours per week. The position is permanent and available in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with hybrid working arrangements applying for the foreseeable future.
