Employment Type: Part time, Per Diem, Rotating Shift with holiday and weekend coverage expected.

About the Role

The Administrative Nursing Supervisor provides leadership to fulfill the mission by offering operational support and ensuring quality patient care delivery according to the nursing process. This role involves managing off-shift and weekend operations, including staffing, clinical practice, resource utilization, and personnel management in the absence of Care Unit administration and department managers.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in formulation, revision, and advancement of strategic short and long-range plans for Nursing services.
  • Coordinates off-shift and/or weekend operations, including staffing, clinical practice, resource utilization, and personnel management.
  • Responds to all Care Unit problems and situations to promote optimal operations and issue resolution; ensures verbal and written follow-up.
  • Handles telecommunications media by notifying the Corporate Communications Department and on-call Care Unit administrator.
  • Consults with the administrator on-call for unusual situations or sentinel events.
  • Assumes a leadership role in implementing and coordinating hospital emergency procedures.
  • Collaborates with Care Unit leadership, physicians, medical directors, and colleagues to promote interdisciplinary activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures interdepartmental and interdisciplinary communication, teamwork, and collaboration with supporting departments.
  • Organizes work and manages time effectively to complete assignments within allotted time.
  • Promotes effective working relationships through timely and accurate communication among colleagues and between departments.
  • Stays informed on current operations through participation in Nursing and Care Unit meetings, committees, and work groups.
  • Communicates the importance of patient satisfaction and champions priorities for improving performance.
  • Contributes to building physician and interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration.
  • Serves as a member of various Care Unit and Nursing committees as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required). Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (preferred).
  • Active PA RN License (required).
  • BLS certification (required).
  • Three to five (3-5) years of progressive clinical experience.
  • Two (2) years of management experience (preferred).
