About the Role

This position ensures the delivery of services for assigned areas of responsibility. The Administrative Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the delivery of care by an interdisciplinary team. They are accountable for the administrative and fiscal management of the assigned areas and work closely with the Director to achieve department goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Management Oversight (40%)
    • Assumes 24-hour accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care within the assigned business line, ensuring patient needs are met in accordance with physician instructions and administrative procedures.
    • Develops, coordinates, and evaluates business line performance improvement programs to meet patient outcomes and regulatory measures.
    • Plans clinical consulting services to support desirable clinical outcomes during interdisciplinary team meetings and follow-up meetings to ensure patient/family needs are met.
  • Operations (30%)
    • Develops budgeted staffing plans and evaluates the effectiveness of care provision.
    • Defines and interprets goals and objectives of services and policies for OhioHealth Home Care.
    • Consults with Operations Director and Medical Director in establishing patient/family policies.
    • Directs collection, analysis, and interpretation of statistics for program planning.
    • Engages in studies and investigations to improve clinical care, planning and evaluating changes in clinical processes with interdisciplinary teams.
    • Ensures provision of qualified human resources to meet patient/family care needs, including recruitment, selection, retention, and evaluation of personnel.
    • Ensures appropriate orientation, training, and professional development of staff.
    • Promotes working relationships with referral sources and other interdependent OhioHealth departments.
    • Ensures compliance with regulations and standards of care (e.g., Medicare, Joint Commission).
    • Participates in strategic planning and collaborates with OhioHealth Home Care leadership to achieve organizational goals.
    • Provides administrative on-call services.
  • Leadership (20%)
    • Provides input into executive-level planning and decisions.
    • Facilitates an environment of servant leadership and customer service.
    • Plans and directs project management activities, collaborating with other departments within Home Care, OhioHealth, and Process Excellence.
    • Actively participates in Home Care, business line, departmental, and system activities.
    • Develops and maintains professional relationships.
    • Works with associates to develop goals and strategies for professional development.
  • Medical Records Management (10%)
    • Assures adequate record keeping and documentation to meet standards, auditing, and utilization review of all clinical activities.
    • Analyzes patient data for reimbursement, quality of care, risk management, utilization management, and research.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving information, and processing medical and legal documents.
    • Participates in the development of educational materials and conducts instructional programs for personnel regarding documentation.
    • Participates in the development and design of computer software for computerized health information systems.
    • Supervises staff in preparing and analyzing clinical documents.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other healthcare-related field (required).
  • Licensed in the state of Ohio for the appropriate field.
  • 3–5 years of management experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Advanced training in a specialty area or further experience in leadership.
