Responsibilities

• Directs long and short-term planning activities for the cardiovascular service line in conjunction with senior leadership, service line directors, managers, physicians, and community contacts.
• Serves as a catalyst between hospital departments, physicians, and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care while expanding and improving the service line.
• Plans and directs the development of the service line across the continuum of clinical functions to achieve objectives derived from the organization's strategic plan for growth and development.
• Develops and implements long and short-term goals consistent with organizational needs by coordinating activities with operational caregivers, physicians, and other key personnel.
• Ensures successful implementation of organizational change through appropriate utilization of resources and effective application of project management and change strategies.
• Collaborates with staff to create a motivating environment that supports shared governance, patient-driven care, continuous quality improvement, and professional practice.
• Develops strategies and implements plans for service line growth and expansion, considering financial investment/return, staffing, facility, finance, and legal implications.
• Works cross-functionally to identify and address issues impacting patient care processes, customer satisfaction, or ethical/legal ramifications.
• Enhances medical staff and other health team member relations.
• Effectively manages conflicts that impact patient care or customer satisfaction.
• Mentors staff in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and customer relations.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, a related area, or equivalent.
• Current licensure to practice in the applicable clinical field in the state of Michigan preferred, if applicable.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible management experience with demonstrated leadership, human relations, and communications skills.
• Experience in relevant service line clinical programs.
• Experience in financial analysis of revenue-generating clinical departments and development of growth strategies and profitability analysis.
