Administrative Coordinator, Research Operations
About The Role
ACPWB's Strategic Research team handles work in advisory delivery support that is deadline-driven, client-facing, and detail-intensive. The Administrative Coordinator, Research Operations is the person who makes sure the operational side of that work is handled — specifically project tracking and milestone reporting. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable being the person the client delivery team relies on to keep things together.
ACPWB's Strategic Research practice is looking for an Administrative Coordinator, Research Operations who understands that operational excellence is not a support function — it is a competitive advantage. You will take ownership of project tracking and milestone reporting, build systems that scale, and become the institutional memory for how our client delivery team gets things done. Senior staff will depend on you. That dependency is a compliment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with IT, HR, and finance on behalf of the Strategic Research team for operational needs
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships relevant to project tracking and milestone reporting, including invoice approval and renewal tracking
- Assist with event logistics including team offsites, client visits, and conference participation
- Support senior staff by handling administrative and operational tasks that free time for client-facing work
- Support the production of client deliverables by managing document formatting, assembly, and distribution
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with project management or task-tracking tools (Asana, Monday.com, Trello, or equivalent)
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to create structure where processes are not yet defined
- Detail-oriented with a strong track record of accuracy in administrative and operational tasks
- Prior experience managing scheduling, logistics, or administrative workflows in a professional environment
Preferred
- Prior event planning or conference coordination experience
- Experience supporting senior executives in a high-volume, client-service environment
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth and expanded responsibility over time
- Experience with survey platforms or data collection tools
- Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools including Zoom, Teams, and Slack
Why ACPWB
ACPWB is the right place for people who believe that doing well and doing good are not fundamentally in conflict. We advise on compensation — a topic where decisions have direct, material consequences for working Americans — and we take that accountability seriously. We also pay competitively, which is consistent with our stated values. ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.
Interview Process
Selected candidates will receive a short written prompt asking them to describe an analytical problem they have solved and how they approached it. This takes approximately 30 minutes. Strong responses advance to a full interview sequence. Every response is reviewed by a human being, not a filter.
What Success Looks Like In Year One
- Identify at least one process inefficiency and propose a concrete, implementable solution
- Build a reputation for reliability — that what you say you will do, you do, and on time
- Build familiarity with ACPWB's services and clients at a level that allows you to make intelligent routing decisions
- Take full ownership of project tracking and milestone reporting and execute it reliably without requiring regular check-ins from management
