About the role
The Administrative Coordinator at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for in-store accounting procedures, cash and funds management, timekeeping, and payroll transmissions. This role ensures store files are up to date, maintains office supplies, and partners with Human Resources and Store Management on hiring, onboarding, team building, and conflict resolution.
After completing daily tasks, Administrative Coordinators may be assigned secondary roles, such as supporting the Front End as a Cashier to cover breaks and business rushes. Trained Administrative Coordinators may also perform Head Cashier duties.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Collect, verify, and distribute tills and change drawers.
- Total checks, cash, credit cards, and create reports from the previous day.
- Oversee the balancing of the safe and create refund reports.
- Prepare bank deposits and record data for cash, checks, food stamps, WIC instruments, and charge vendor coupons.
- Maintain front-end security to control cash, shrink, and dishonesty.
- Facilitate hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
- Process internal transfers and job/pay changes.
- Support a positive and engaging work environment while adhering to safety, health, and compliance regulations.
- Plan and execute team-building and recognition events.
- Pull and distribute sales reports for each department.
- Stay updated on company procedures, policies, and benefits to inform store employees.
- Keep store files organized and up to date.
- Order office supplies to maintain efficient stock levels.
- Ensure timekeeping and payroll functions are completed correctly and on time.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized office and work areas.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and provide prompt, friendly service to customers.
- Remain informed of sales and ad items to assist customers effectively.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and compliance regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in retail store accounting, administrative, and human resources procedures preferred.
- Regular, dependable attendance is essential.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word; knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting and human resources software.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand, wrist, finger, and eye movements.
- Wear required PPE, including non-slip, closed-toe shoes, long pants, hair/beard covers, face coverings or masks, and gloves (latex and/or cut-resistant).
