General Summary
This position supports a variety of administrative and operational functions within the Department of Anesthesiology at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Division. The role involves coordinating Medical Staff Office activities, supporting quality programming, and assisting with the administrative management of academic programs such as residency, fellowship, or other training programs. The position also oversees Departmental Information Technology processes, inventory assignment and tracking, and conducts needs assessments.
Responsibilities
- Supports the overall department in various areas, including CME conferences coordination, oversight of visiting trauma rotators, back-up support for residency programs, administrative support for department leadership, faculty, and non-ACGME fellows.
- Handles procedural and substantive matters independently or refers callers to others as appropriate.
- Schedules meetings and coordinates meeting space, ensuring supervisors have required materials.
- Acts as an intermediary for supervisor, interacting with officials, staff at all levels, and the public.
- Provides information requiring comprehensive knowledge of institutional policies, procedures, and special departmental issues.
- Maintains department staff records and tracks various training for staff.
- Schedules appropriate trainings based on job titles as directed.
- Completes mandatory employee health, workers compensation, HR processes and other training and requirements in required time frame to ensure compliance with all FPI rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of administration experience, preferably in higher education or healthcare setting.
- Accurate typing and data entry skills.
- Excellent organization and communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and software used by the department.
