Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement postsecondary education programs by collaborating with educational institutions to offer accredited courses and pathways that meet the educational and rehabilitative needs of inmates.
  • Foster relationships with colleges, universities, and vocational schools.
  • Promote awareness of the programs to stakeholders.
  • Supervise and assist employees, while being responsible for their performance evaluations.
  • Lead and manage special projects aimed at improving educational outcomes.
  • Initiate and oversee new educational programs and pilot projects.
  • Explore and integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate to identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities.
  • Establish metrics for program success and conduct regular evaluations to gather data to support the efficiency of implemented programs.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to improve program quality.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of professional administrative experience.
  • A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
