About the role

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Administrative Assistant II (C) to support the Board Office. This role supports efficient day-to-day operations and ensures Board and committee meetings comply with Brown Act requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in providing administrative support to the Board Office.
  • Coordinate and support Board and committee meetings by managing logistics, room setup and breakdown, and preparing meeting materials.
  • Ensure meetings are conducted in compliance with Brown Act requirements by supporting meeting documentation, public noticing, and related administrative processes.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and comprehensive meeting minutes by documenting proceedings and maintaining records.
  • Perform data entry functions, entering, updating, correcting, and maintaining records while verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with various operational, special projects, and assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: A High school diploma or equivalent and five years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s Degree and three years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of relevant experience.
  • Relevant Experience: Administrative experience assisting with public board, council, commission, or committee meetings, including coordinating logistics and preparing meeting materials.

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Pay

This position offers competitive compensation.

Schedule

This classification operates on a 9/80 schedule: Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Hybrid work schedule is typically two days a week in person and the other days remote. Details on the hybrid schedule are subject to change and will be provided upon implementation of a telework policy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: A High school diploma or equivalent and five years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s Degree and three years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of relevant experience.
