About the role
The Computing Services department at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an Administrative Assistant I. This position offers an engaging and dynamic work environment where you can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Maintains department calendar to ensure timely identification and adherence to time-critical issues such as performance reviews, meetings, and project reviews.
- Produces, assembles, and maintains reports and summaries.
- Frequently responds to inquiries and requests regarding departmental information.
- Provides administrative and secretarial/clerical assistance, drafting memos and correspondence using office software.
- Serves as the initial point of contact and liaison, coordinating information internally and externally.
- Manages general office tasks: setting up and maintaining filing systems, processing purchase orders, paying bills, scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, etc.
- Ensures meeting materials are prepared and available.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of administrative support experience.
- 3-5 years of data entry experience.
- 3-5 years of office management experience.
- 3-5 years of word processing experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organization and planning skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
