About the Department
The Career Readiness Center supports current UNT Health students and alumni in achieving their professional development goals by providing individualized career coaching and workshops.
About the Role
The Assistant for the Career Readiness Center (Division of Student Affairs) will provide general office support for Career Readiness Center activities and functions. This role requires in-person office coverage at least once per week and support during events. This part-time position allows for a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- General desk coverage: answer phones, take messages, schedule staff appointments, and return calls and emails from new and prospective students.
- Administrative assistance: assist departmental staff with clerical tasks such as creating and maintaining bulletin boards, filing, delivering and picking up sensitive academic documents, maintaining accurate student records, and assisting with cash deposits.
- Assist with student activity programming, including New Student Orientation, Organization Fair, International Week, Internship and Residency Fair, Commencement, White Coat Ceremony, and other Divisional events.
- Schedule and approve student appointments, assist with departmental activities such as job fairs, job postings, workshops, special events, and website maintenance.
- Assist with social media post creation and posting strategy to spread awareness of the Career Readiness Center online.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in progress or completed.
- Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Comfortable using technology and social media platforms, such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, Canva, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with social media and creation platforms, such as Canva, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work involving sitting or standing.
- Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Pay
$15.00/hour
Schedule
- In-person office coverage at least once per week and support during events.
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, up to 15 hours per week.
