Administration Support Specialist

About the Role
The Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) supports CalPERS’ business operations by providing technology services, solutions, and support to ensure effective delivery of programs and services. This role serves as the ITSB Receptionist, playing a key role in supporting daily administrative operations and acting as a welcoming, professional point of contact for team members and visitors.
Pay
$3,829.00 - $4,794.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the ITSB, greeting and assisting team members, visitors, and callers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Support daily administrative operations, including managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining office supplies, and coordinating meeting logistics.
- Perform typing and data entry tasks with accuracy and efficiency, adhering to established standards and deadlines.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of documents, reports, and presentations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with CalPERS policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and conference rooms, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Provide general administrative support to ITSB staff, including but not limited to filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to support the branch’s goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Ability to type at a minimum speed as designated in the Class Specifications (typing certificate confirming minimum speed required prior to hire).
- Must pass an examination to establish list eligibility prior to a final offer of employment. Visit CalHR’s CalCareers website to find and take the Office Technician exam.
- Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification. Include all relevant experience, education, and training in your application package. If using education to meet MQs, submit transcripts (foreign degrees require a U.S. equivalency evaluation from a NACES-approved organization).
