Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Guest Screening Services Representatives, interns and volunteers to ensure the highest standard of service and behavior.
  • Responsible for staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Schedules staff, reviews and signs off on staff timesheets, evaluates staff performance, and provides feedback on a regular basis.
  • Ensures all processes, systems, and tools for screening, badging, and checking-in patients are functional.
  • Identifies gaps and areas for process and system improvement.
  • Ensures all supplies have been ordered and deployed as needed at each work site.
  • Oversight at each campus for troubleshooting and resolving service issues related to screening, checking-in, badging, greeting, and escorting patients and guests of UCSF Health.
  • Campus-level point of escalation for all service issues that occur at their location, working with Manager and Director as needed to resolve.
  • Creates a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring all those we serve are safely screened and badged as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the appearance of the information desks and screening areas.
  • Responsible for patient escorting operations as needed, collaborating with Transport leadership as needed.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience required.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Able to provide wheelchair and walking escort service for patients.

  • Strong decision making, problem solving, positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem identification and escalation with good judgment to prevent errors, delays, or waste.
