Admin Support Services - Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center
About the role
As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing services in the Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center (CRSC) to adults 18+. In this role, you will provide administrative and clerical support to management and staff, while also connecting clients to services that will help them with their mental health crises, stabilization, and recovery journey. Additionally, you will gain operational knowledge of a Non-profit and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in your work with our various departments, prescribers, mental health, and substance use providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to management and staff and clients, which may include but not limited to: typing, record keeping maintenance (i.e. program, client charts), filing, data collection, billing preparation, insurance verifications, processing incoming referrals, report preparation, consumer contact log tracking and reporting, opening and closing/pulling client charts, data entry and storage, and receives, stamps, sorts and routes distributing mail, etc.
- Great and directs clients/patients, salespersons and visitors and work well and professionally with public, clients/consumers, staff and management
- Verify, review, and update demographic and insurance information in the agency electronic health record
- General knowledge of all insurance benefits and coverage, as well as Patient Verification Systems - Evolv NX, MyAbility, Navinet, NJMMIS is a plus
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
- Upload benefits in the agency Electronic Health Record
- Collect payment at the time of service and/or collect past balances from the client, virtually or in-person
- Answer the telephone and provide routine information
- Absorb and communicate information to clients (over the phone and in-person) by communicating in a positive, friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments, conduct appointment confirmations/reminders
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Requirements
- High School diploma (HSD) or General Education Degree (GED)
- 6 months to three (3) years administrative/billing/medical office experience
- Valid Driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance
