The Madison County Health Department is seeking an Administrative Support professional to join our team. This position provides essential clerical and administrative support to health department programs and serves as an important point of contact for patients and community members accessing public health services. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, customer-service focused, and comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Job Responsibilities Greet and assist patients, visitors, and community members in a professional and courteous manner. Perform front-desk and reception duties, including answering and routing telephone calls and responding to routine inquiries. Schedule appointments and assist with patient registration and intake processes. Perform WIC registration and provide clerical support for WIC and other health department programs. Enter and update information accurately in applicable databases and electronic systems. Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records, files, and documentation. Review information and forms for completeness and accuracy. Assist with filing, scanning, faxing, copying, correspondence, and other routine office functions. Communicate program requirements, procedures, and general information to patients and customers. Maintain confidentiality of patient and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable requirements. Provide administrative support to management, clinical staff, and other health department programs as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
