Admin I Inventory Control
ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. Our team supports the supply chain network evolution to an integrated self-distribution model, serving leading omnichannel grocery brands including Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.
About the role
Perform a wide variety of duties to maintain and control accurate levels of inventory in grocery and perishable warehouses. This includes evaluating and researching complex inventory discrepancies, entering data into warehouse systems, auditing outbound cases to retail stores, and providing technical support to receiving and shipping departments. The role serves as a communication bridge with customers in retail, merchandising, trucking, and distribution.
Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain processes for the inventory department independently or without supervision.
- Perform complex research and analysis to identify, diagnose, and resolve inventory problems.
- Apply leadership responsibilities within the team or group.
- Communicate with business partners and customers to address concerns positively.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all departments within the campus.
- Perform quality control and auditing responsibilities.
- Conduct perpetual cycle counts and supplemental count requirements within established time frames.
- Monitor warehouse damage and initiate resolution.
- Notify appropriate department leads for product discrepancies.
- Utilize reports to investigate and expedite issues related to inventory discrepancies and audit results.
- Maintain accurate, organized files for all department responsibilities.
- Perform daily warehouse responsibilities related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Recommend modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Understand and apply food safety handling techniques and practices.
- Assign items to select slots based on operational productivity strategies while ensuring safety.
- Maintain slotting strategy integrity through analysis and alignment with item velocity.
- Partner with 3PL unloading service to complete inbound receivings.
- Process purchase orders and print paperwork/labels for inbound pallets.
- Manage vendor inbound compliance entries.
- Serve as a communication bridge between the distribution center and procurement team.
- Oversee backhaul trailer processing.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of WMS and supporting systems.
- Seasoned knowledge of inventory practices, procedures, and research techniques.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent customer service, communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills producing positive results in inventory accuracy.
- Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
- Read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
- Work the needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
- Proficient use of computers for data entry and research.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and team player with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
Qualifications
- High school education.
- Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management operations or related job functions.
- Familiarity or experience in a distribution environment preferred.
