Adjunct, Sociology
About the role
Widener University’s Sociology Department in the College of Arts and Sciences is currently seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach in person Sociology courses.
Responsibilities
Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 to 3 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day. Adjunct faculty are expected to teach a specified course(s); prepare course materials, be available to meet with students outside of regularly scheduled class time, and provide support and guidance to students.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Sociology
- Preference will be given to candidates who have ABD or PhD in Sociology, previous teaching experience, and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling
Qualifications
Complete applications are to include a cover letter, CV and contact information for three professional references. This is a pooled position from which adjunct(s) will be hired. As openings occur, applicants will be hired from this pool.
