Adjunct RN Faculty - PRN Utah Pediatric (Peds) Clinical Adjunct - Nursing

About the Role

Grand Canyon University is seeking Adjunct Clinical and Lab Nursing faculty members to teach and mentor pre-licensure nursing students. This PRN position involves traveling within the Salt Lake City, Utah area to observe student performance during clinical rotations and labs.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
• Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the University
• Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance
• Participate in and/or support the university program, aligning with its philosophy, direction, and community service
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

Qualifications

• Preferred: MSN
• Required:
  • BSN (must enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU)
  • OR BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program
  • OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught (specify on resume)
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience in direct care with Pediatric nursing with a BSN
• Active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students
