Adjunct Qualitative Dissertation Chair- School of Education

About the role

Liberty University’s School of Education doctoral team is seeking an Online Adjunct Qualitative Dissertation Chair or Committee Member to challenge doctoral candidates academically and spiritually. Adjuncts are expected to model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end.

Responsibilities

• Supervise doctoral candidates conducting methodologically sound research
• Provide detailed feedback specific to qualitative research methods
• Maintain communication with candidates to ensure compliance with school dissertation handbook and university policies

Qualifications

• EdD or PhD in Education
• Degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
• Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University
• Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research
• Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills
• Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas

Preferred Qualifications

• Established record of research evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentations
• Capstone, dissertation, or thesis mentorship experience
• Experience teaching research methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas)
• Ability to work at a pace that will not delay the progress of a doctoral candidate toward timely completion of the doctoral degree
