Adjunct professor with a Ph.D. MIU CITY UNIVERSITY

About the role

The Personal Docente e Investigador (PDI) will contribute to the educational mission of MIU City University Miami, an institution dedicated to providing high-quality academic programs internationally.

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver assigned courses to promote student success while maintaining academic rigor.
• Review and improve the syllabus of assigned courses.
• Promote and facilitate interaction ensuring collaborative learning.
• Motivate and guide students in class and respond to forums in a timely manner.
• Assume responsibility for tracking and assessing student learning, achievement of course objectives, and providing feedback.
• Attend assigned classes by being present 15 minutes prior to the start of class and respond to any questions or needs.
• Participate in faculty meetings, official functions, and perform other duties as may be required by the administration.
• Engage in professional development events and report progress to the HR Department.
• Willingness to tutor and mentor students in their office or via video conference when requested.
• Perform additional duties useful to teaching performance.

Requirements

• Verifiable last level of study, PhD.
• Able to organize and deliver assigned courses to promote student success while maintaining academic rigor.

• Ability to motivate and guide students in class and respond to forums in a timely manner.

• Assumes responsibility for attending assigned classes by being present 15 minutes prior to the start of class and responding to any questions or needs.
• Willingness to attend faculty meetings, official functions, and perform other duties as may be required by the administration.
• Interest in participating in professional development events and reporting progress to the HR Department.
• Positive attitude to tutor and mentor students in their office or via video conference when requested.
• Willingness to perform additional duties useful to teaching performance.

Qualifications

• English proficiency.
• Communication skills.
• Proactivity and commitment.
• Willingness to pursue an academic career.
• Comfortable working online and with videoconferencing technologies.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in online and face-to-face training preferred.
• Experience in the following areas of expertise: Global Finance, Managerial -Accounting, Financial Markets and Instruments, International Business Administration -Capstone Project Managerial Accounting, Business Information System, Innovation.
