About the role

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, San Diego is seeking Adjunct Professors (non-tenure track) at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full level. Appointees may focus primarily on research or teaching, with limited responsibility in the other area, and will engage in University and public service consistent with their assignments.

Research areas may include, but are not limited to: Aerospace, Controls, Design, Engineering Education, Environmental, Fluid Mechanics & Heat Transfer, Info Storage, Mechanics & Materials, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Biomechanics, Biomaterials, Medical Devices, Combustion, Plasma & Fusion, and Renewables.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and possibly design innovative coursework in your area(s) of expertise.
  • Provide mentorship to university students and supervise student thesis/research.
  • Engage in professional activities on campus and services related to the pedagogical mission of the department and university.
  • Conduct research and/or creative activity in your respective area of expertise.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.

Pay

Salary range begins above $100,000.
