The Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE).

About the role

The Department of MMAE is seeking adjunct faculty who can contribute to its teaching mission, particularly in areas such as solid mechanics, dynamics and control, energy systems, and mechatronics. The department is part of a larger college that is designated as an R1 University (Highest Research Activity) and is known for its strong emphasis on experiential learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Perform professional service activities within and outside the university.

Requirements

Applicants must hold an earned Doctorate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, robotics engineering, or a closely related field, at the time of appointment. A notable record of teaching experiences and scholarly activity is preferred.

Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate the ability or potential to:

  • Teach and develop a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Perform professional service activities within and outside the university.

Skills

Effective communication skills are required.
