Adjunct Professor- Medical Assisting

About the role

Provides instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development. Prepares and/or maintains current course syllabi for courses taught. Ensures that courses are taught in accordance with the established syllabi. May teach in the day, evening, on-campus, as well as alternate delivery methods such as internet or hybrid. This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field
• Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare facility
• Current certification as a CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) through the AAMA

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field
• Three (3) years of recent employment in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of one (1) year in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative or clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants
• Credentialed in Medical Assisting by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
