Adjunct Pool for Health Sciences

About the role

The Nutrition Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. The successful candidate will teach one or two undergraduate (Nutrition Science, B.S) courses per semester.

Responsibilities

• Deliver course content
• Create assignments and other assessments
• Evaluate and grade student work
• Hold office hours to assist students

Requirements

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline) at the time of appointment.
• All degrees must be from an accredited institution.
• A terminal degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.
• Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions.
• Evidence of working with a diverse student population.
• Evidence of effective collaboration skills.
• Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Benefits

This position is a non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure eligibility. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment.
