About the Role
Under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair, or Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for providing academic instruction in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Design Principles to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking skills among students.
- Advise and instruct students on programs of study, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate.
- Observe and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes, aligning with department and university mission/goals.
- Maintain accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, and learning outcomes; submit data and reports in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks and software in collaboration with discipline faculty.
- Integrate current and emerging instructional technologies to enhance teaching and the educational experience.
- Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from a recognized graduate institution or equivalent professional experience and recognition, with specialization in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Design.
- Thorough and accurate knowledge of current theory and practice within the subject discipline.
- Ability to deliver course curricula using various learning styles.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of university students, including those with disabilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in UI/UX Design Principles and best practices of effective teaching.
- Proficiency in integrating instructional delivery technologies into the learning process.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on mentoring and advising students.
Pay
$32–$34.50 per hour.
Schedule
Part-time adjunct faculty positions for Fall and Spring semesters. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
