The Adjunct Pool - Chemistry Department Position is available for part-time faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Responsibilities include providing academic instruction, advising students, evaluating student performance, planning and organizing instruction, maintaining records, and selecting instructional materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
• Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students.
• Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and order them according to campus bookstore procedure.

Requirements

The position requires a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition. No specific licenses or certifications are required.

• Thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field or discipline.
• Ability to demonstrate principles and best practices of effective teaching.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
• Integration of current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process.
• Professional standards that protect student confidentiality.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
