Responsibilities
- Provide online didactic instruction and academic support to assigned nursing students.
- Facilitate asynchronous BSN courses in alignment with established course objectives, program outcomes, and accreditation standards.
- Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement and course completion.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments, discussions, and assessments.
- Utilize the institution’s learning management system to manage course materials, grades, and communication.
- Maintain availability to students through virtual office hours, email, and approved communication platforms.
- Adhere to established grading timelines and academic policies.
- Participate in required adjunct orientation, training, and annual professional development.
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation in compliance with institutional, accreditation, and federal requirements.
- Collaborate with course coordinators, full-time faculty, and program leadership to ensure instructional consistency.
- Provide appropriate referrals for academic or personal concerns impacting student success.
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
- Maintain familiarity with current nursing education standards and online teaching best practices.
- Communicate regularly with the BSN Program Director or Dean of Nursing as needed.
Requirements
- Education or Training: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution (required).
- Graduate degree in nursing or education (MSN, DNP, PhD, EdD) preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of recent clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Prior online teaching experience or completion of online teaching training preferred.
- Experience teaching in a BSN or RN-to-BSN program preferred.
- Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and AACN Essentials preferred.
- Experience with online simulation or virtual clinical platforms preferred.
