Adjunct Lecturer - Information Technology Programs
Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) invites applications for its part-time adjunct lecturer pool in Information Technology. Courses may be offered on the Uptown Campus in New Orleans or online, and specific openings vary each semester based on departmental needs.
About the role
The adjunct lecturer will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Technology, including but not limited to those listed in the B.S. in Information Technology and M.S. in Cyber Technology programs. Full course descriptions are available in the Tulane catalog.
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction in assigned Information Technology courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Prepare and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
- Engage students through effective teaching methods and timely feedback.
- Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for course administration.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required; a doctorate or terminal degree is preferred.
- Direct professional experience in the subject area of the course(s) to be taught is preferred.
- Industry experience in a technology-related position is preferred.
- University-level teaching experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Consistent access to broadband internet and a computer/laptop capable of running modern browsers, with a functional camera and microphone.
