Adjunct Instructor - School of STEM-Career

About the role

Mohawk Valley Community College's School of STEM-Career invites applications for part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach courses in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering Technologies, Electrical Service Technology and Mechatronics, Metal Fabrication, HVAC/R, Carpentry and Masonry, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems / Geographic Information Systems. This position requires on-campus instruction and presence in Utica, NY as needed. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings, virtually, or a combination, and may include both daytime and evening class assignments. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and the School needs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom instruction
• Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives
• Develop and maintain syllabus materials
• Evaluate student performance
• Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades
• Respond promptly to student inquiries
• Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards
• Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process
• Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy

Successful candidates must reside in New York State and have the ability to work on campus as required.
