About the role

A non-tenure track position in the BSN program at Lincoln University. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate nursing courses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop, implement, and evaluate the curriculum.
  • Provide appropriate classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing courses.
  • Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
  • Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
  • Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Two years of full-time clinical experience in the area/areas of teaching responsibility.
  • Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Master’s in nursing degree required.

Physical Demands

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
