About the role
A non-tenure track position in the BSN program at Lincoln University. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate nursing courses.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop, implement, and evaluate the curriculum.
- Provide appropriate classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing courses.
- Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
- Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
- Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing. Maintain professional development activities.
- Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Two years of full-time clinical experience in the area/areas of teaching responsibility.
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Master’s in nursing degree required.
Physical Demands
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
