Adjunct Instructor - Pediatric Nursing

Essential Duties

• Create courses aligned with learning outcomes to enhance student engagement and active participation.
• Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Utilize various assessments to evaluate student progress and ensure alignment with course objectives.
• Support students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals while promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
• Lead and collaborate effectively within and beyond the academic community to support student success.
• Present high-quality, engaging lectures and maintain consistent office hours for each course.
• Accurately record and submit student attendance and grades according to established policies.
• Maintain regular one-on-one meetings with students to discuss academic progress and address concerns.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Pediatric Nursing.
• Current unencumbered Illinois RN license required.
• At least 2 years' experience in clinical nursing practice required.
• Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or similar preferred.
• Prior experience with online teaching (via Zoom) and/or online teaching certification strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.
• Experience working with a diverse, multilingual student population desired.
